Lake Manyara Day Safari
Spot tree-climbing lions and flamingos in this Rift Valley gem.
Overview of the Route
Explore the diverse ecosystems of Lake Manyara National Park, a compact gem offering incredible biodiversity. The park is famous for its tree-climbing lions, large flamingo flocks, and the dramatic Rift Valley escarpment that forms its western boundary. This day safari takes you through groundwater forests, acacia woodlands, and along the shores of the alkaline lake. The park is home to elephants, hippos, giraffes, zebras, and an exceptional variety of primates including baboons and blue monkeys. The birdlife is spectacular, with over 400 species recorded. Pink flamingos often line the lakeshore, and the park is one of the best places in Tanzania to spot the elusive tree-climbing lions resting in mahogany and acacia trees.
