Lake Duluti Canoe & Nature Walk
Paddle a crater lake and explore forest trails teeming with birdlife and monkeys.
Overview of the Route
Escape the bustle of Arusha with a peaceful excursion to Lake Duluti, a serene crater lake nestled within a protected forest reserve. This half-day tour combines a gentle canoe ride on the tranquil waters with a nature walk through the surrounding forest. Glide across the mirror-like lake in a traditional dugout canoe, spotting a variety of waterbirds including kingfishers, cormorants, and herons. The lake is surrounded by a lush forest that's home to blue monkeys, bushbucks, and numerous bird species. After your canoe experience, take a guided nature walk around the lake's crater rim, learning about the local flora and fauna. The forest is particularly beautiful in the morning light, making this an ideal start to your day in Tanzania.
